Warm buttery flakey biscuits with sweet and spicy honey sauce.
Buttered biscuits with hot honey are pure comfort with a kick. The warm, flaky layers of the biscuit, already rich with buttery goodness, become even more indulgent when kissed with the sweet heat of hot honey. The honey seeps into every crevice, balancing the savory richness with a spicy-sweet glaze that melts in your mouth. It’s a simple pairing that delivers bold, crave-worthy flavor in every bite.
Ingredients:
- 3 1⁄2 cups (440g) All-Purpose Flour, plus more for dusting
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons – Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons – Kosher Salt
- 2 teaspoons – Sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoons – Baking Soda
- 1 cup (2 sticks) – Chilled Unsalted Butter, cut into 1⁄2” cubes
- 1 cup – Buttermilk, chilled Melted Butter for brushing
- 1 cup – Little BEEst Hot Honey Sauce (pick your favorite flavor!)
Instructions:
- Place rack in middle of oven; preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pulse flour, baking powder, kosher salt, sugar & baking soda in a food processor to combine. Add chilled butter & pulse butter until pieces are pea sized. Transfer to a large bowl & slowly add chilled buttermilk over the dry ingredients.
- Mix with a fork while pouring to incorporate. Knead mixture in the bowl until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn out onto a floured surface & flatten to approximately 1” thick.
- Using a bench scraper, cut dough into 4 pieces, stack on top of one another & push together to flatten. Flatten dough into a 1” thick rectangle again.
- Punch dough with desired size ring cutters or cut into squares. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet & freeze 10 minutes.
- Brush tops of biscuits with melted butter & place in oven.
- Bake biscuits until deep golden brown on bottom & golden on top, 20–25 minutes.
- When biscuits have cooled slightly, generously drizzle hot honey sauce on top, serve with a side of room temperature butter & Little BEEst Hot Honey Sauce.
